There are many Christmasy things my maternal grandmother did that I aspire to. For the last few Christmases past the trendiest party theme has been the ugly Christmas sweater bash. Gone were the cocktail dresses and dress pants, replaced with an explosion of the tackiest pullovers, cardis and vests Value Village could provide. There was nothing gentle about the first time.
