Carl Gustav Jung

Jon Roe | Nov.25.2011 | comment 1

We know little about what happens in our unconscious minds, but what little we do understand is thanks to psychiatrists like Carl Gustav Jung. His analysis of the mind’s inner workings has helped many people, including the war-torn Afghans. Inge Missmahl, brought to town this weekend by the Calgary Jung Society, has applied her Jungian training to easing the mental-health burden of the people of Afghanistan. If you’re planning to attend, we’re here to help you pose your way through a few high-brow psychosocial conversations. Read More more

Iris Dement’s voice can break your heart, especially on songs like “Our Town” (“… I ordered a beer/ It’s been 40 years and I’m still sitting here”). Fortunately, Dement is sharing the bill with Men at Work frontman Colin Hay, who should be able to reassemble all broken hearts.

ATP is auditioning for the role of Toto in its upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz (Nov. 23 to Dec 31). Before you get too excited, remember that while there are no small roles there are definitely small-dog roles; no canines weighing more than 10 pounds need apply.

Other than that, dogs should, like their two-legged acting colleagues, be up-to-date on their shots, comfortable around people and “love treats and be playful.”
